5 Ways to Use Google For Your Business
Google is everywhere! It is in our laptops, tablets and smartphones. And it can do almost anything for us - for FREE! (If you have a email address for your website run by google than it is $5/month). Did you know at this point in time Google has over 20 apps apart of it’s suite? That’s a lot to learn. Well don’t let that scare you, I have narrowed it down to 5 that I think are most beneficial for our bridal businesses.
1. Google My Business
Did you know you can make a free google listing? And after you set that up when people search your industry you will show up higher in the search? For instance, I am a freelance makeup artist in Metro Atlanta, specifically Kennesaw, GA. When people google “makeup artist near me” I am top on the list. If you get your happy clients to go into your listing and and leave a favorable google review, this also does wonders for your search ranking.
2. Google Search for Keywords
Do you ever get writers block when it is time to write a blog post or social media caption? Well go to the search bar of google. It will complete the search for you and will show you what people are currently searching for.
3. Google Analytics
This speaks to the nerd in me. The analytics will tell you how often people come to your website, how long they visit, what pages they click on, what source sent them to your page (i.e. Instagram, Facebook). If you dig a little deeper you can also learn about the interests of those that are coming to your page which can help you generate ideas for new services and ideas for content creation.
4. Google Adwords
If you have a Google My Business account set up and have a location based business, such as my freelance makeup business, you can invest a very modest amount with Adwords to help drive traffic to your site. This will make you be at the top of the google search results with “Ad” next to your listing.
5. Google Drive
You can create spreadsheets, and word documents here. I have canned emails, flyers to send to customers and pictures of past clients all saved in my drive. If I am on the go and I want to send one of my professional documents I can just go into my google drive right from my phone and attach it to my email. It is like having a mobile computer with me, without having to download all of that stuff to my phone. And if anything happens to my computer, I know all of the documents are backed up on the google drives.
